UTest Home Drug Test Review (2024) How Reliable Is It?

Your best guide to UTest Home Drug Test

With so many home drug test companies out there, it can be difficult to know which one you should choose.

I’ve made it my mission to help people facing drug tests. I’ve tried my fair share of home drug tests, and I’m familiar with how they work.

I decided to give UTest a try. Here’s my review, as well as other people’s opinions.

What is the UTest Home Drug Test?

Utest Drug Test

UTest home drug test is a marijuana detection test that can be used at home.

The test detects THC metabolites in urine.

It’s manufactured by UTest in FDA-approved facilities.

UTest Home Drug Test Highlights

While testing out this product, I’ve found several benefits.

1.) Private

The company says their aim was to provide an accurate and friendly drug screening experience, and they’ve succeeded.

The test can be done in the privacy of your home. You don’t have to go to a lab or give your private information to anyone.

The only person who’ll know your results is you.

2.) Clear Instructions

urine in a containerOn their website, UTest says they’ve included clear instructions and test interpretations, which I found to be true.

Overall, I was impressed with the packaging, and I believe the drug test would be easy to use for someone who’s never tried a home test before.

The instructions say:

  • Collect a urine sample in a cup
  • Take out the test from the pouch
  • Remove the cap from the end of the test
  • Insert the absorbent end of the test into urine until a C-line appears
  • Put the cap back on the absorbent end
  • Place the test on a flat surface
  • Wait for 5 minutes and read the results

The results are also easy to read thanks to the clear instruction:

  • Negative — Two lines will be visible, next to the C and T
  • Positive — One line will be visible, next to the C
  • Invalid — No lines next to C or T

3.) Shipping

delivery man and customerThe shipping rules are clearly listed on the official website. My experience was in line with the shipping conditions.

All orders placed by 10 am Monday to Friday will be shipped the same day.

The first time I ordered this test, I received it in about 24 hours.

The second time I had to wait longer – I placed my order on Friday afternoon and the test arrived on Monday.

I also like how they package the tests. They are sent in discreet packaging, so no one else knows what’s inside the box.

Pros:

  • FDA-approved
  • Good customer support
  • Fast shipping
  • Easy to use

My Rating of UTest Home Drug Test

  • Shipping: 4/5
  • Packaging: 5/5
  • Instructions: 5/5

UTest Home Drug Test Shortfalls

These are the shortcomings of the UTest drug test.

marijuana leaves1.) Only Tests for Marijuana

The only drug UTest tests for is marijuana.

This is useful if your main goal is to check if THC metabolites are still present in your system.

UTest can detect three THC metabolites:

  • THCC
  • THCA
  • THCCOOH

But, if you want to test for some other commonly used drug, you’ll have to get a separate test.

2.) Test Accuracy

The company claims the test has 99% accuracy, which I don’t think is completely true.

I compared UTest with lab test results, and they both showed the same result. However, I talked with other people and found many online reviews that claim UTest and lab results differed.

Cons:

  • Only tests for THC
  • Questionable test accuracy

Comparison to Other Home Drug Tests

woman contemplatingCompared to some popular home drug tests, UTest is the most affordable. It starts at $5.95 for one test.

Other popular tests, such as PreScreen Plus Mini, Easy@Home, and Care Check, are priced at around $25.

As I’ve mentioned, UTest only checks for the presence of marijuana.

PreScreen Plus Mini and Easy@Home both check for the presence of 12 drugs, while Care Check also only tests for marijuana.

FAQ

Are At-Home Urine Drug Tests Accurate?

According to the FDA, no home drug test is 100% accurate [1]. However, home drug tests can have high accuracy, with some being 99% accurate.

Should You Try the UTest Home Drug Test?

Overall, there are some things I liked about the UTest home tests. However, the main issue is how trustworthy they are.

If you’re searching for something more reliable, check out the PreScreen Mini Plus. It’s FDA-approved, so you can be sure it’s safe to use.

Its biggest benefit is that it tests for the presence of 12 drugs. Finally, it has a shelf-life of 18 months, which means you will be able to use this test for a long time.

Check it out, and do a reliable test in the privacy of your home.
