Two Men Arrested in Rocky Mount Drug Raids as Police Crack Down on Trafficking

In a one-two punch against drug trafficking, Rocky Mount police arrested two men Friday after separate busts turned up large quantities of marijuana, cocaine, and a firearm.

Acting on a tip, the city’s Narcotics and Vice Suppression Unit, alongside the Special Operations Division, raided the Hill Street home of 43-year-old Telemachus Watson.

Inside, they uncovered more than 4 kilograms of marijuana, nearly 10 grams of crack cocaine, a .40 caliber handgun, and over $1,500 in cash—an arsenal of evidence pointing to a high-volume operation.

Watson now faces a stack of charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon, intent to sell cocaine and marijuana, and keeping a drug house—twice over. He’s being held at Edgecombe County Jail without bond.

Just hours later, investigators followed another lead to 37-year-old Robert Walker. After tracking him from his Cunningham Drive residence, they pulled him over and found more than half a kilo of marijuana in his vehicle.

Walker was taken into custody and booked on felony marijuana charges. He’s being held at Nash County Jail on a $10,500 bond.

“This kind of cooperation with the public makes all the difference,” said Captain Bunt, praising the local community for tipping off authorities.

His words echo a broader truth: information flows are the lifeblood of street-level policing. In a town like Rocky Mount, where neighbors talk and word travels fast, every whisper can spark a takedown.

The raids mark a small but striking chapter in the city’s ongoing battle with drug trafficking—one that shows how quickly the tide can turn when police and residents lock arms.
