A Southern California man was taken into custody after an undercover sting revealed millions in illegal drugs, highlighting the growing threat of dangerous narcotics in the region.
Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jose Alberto Soto. Following a thorough investigation, officers executed the operation on October 16 in the 7500 block of Central Avenue.
During the search, authorities seized over 50 pounds of powdered fentanyl and close to nine pounds of black tar heroin, alongside $14,500 in cash.
The street value of the drugs is estimated at more than $4 million. To put it into perspective, the fentanyl alone could cause over 11 million lethal overdoses, given the drug’s potency.
