Rosie O’Donnell Addresses Daughter’s Legal Troubles: ‘A Decade of Struggles’

Rosie O’Donnell has publicly commented on the recent arrest of her daughter, Chelsea Belle, sharing her feelings in an Instagram post on Saturday.

O’Donnell expressed her deep concern for Chelsea, a mother of four, and reflected on the decade-long battle her family has faced with Chelsea’s drug addiction.

“Chelsea is in the news today,” O’Donnell wrote, alongside a photo from earlier years. “This is a photo from a better time.” She continued, “Sadly, this isn’t new for our family.

Chelsea has struggled with addiction for 10 years. We’re all hopeful she’ll find her way out of this deadly disease.”

Chelsea Belle, 27, was arrested on September 10 after a search of her Wisconsin home led to charges of child neglect, methamphetamine possession, and drug trafficking.

After posting a $2,000 bond, Chelsea was later re-arrested in October and remains in custody. She is expected to appear in court in early November.

O’Donnell adopted Chelsea with her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter, but their relationship has faced ups and downs over the years. In 2015, a 17-year-old Chelsea ran away from home but was found a week later.

The two became estranged until reconnecting in 2018 when Chelsea was pregnant with her first child. O’Donnell spoke openly about the challenges they’ve overcome, saying forgiveness had brought a sense of grace to their relationship.

As Chelsea faces legal consequences, her mother and family remain cautiously optimistic for her recovery.
