She told her son she’d be back soon. He watched as she left their Richmond home and climbed into a car’s back seat. Little did he know, it would be the last time he’d see her.

Christina Dixon, 40, and Matthew Johnson, 41, found dead in the St. Marys River, were reportedly working with Richmond police just days before their brutal deaths.

Court documents reveal they helped police carry out a major drug bust, leading to the arrest of 29-year-old Dominique Washington.

Washington, also known as “Rooster” or “Nico,” now faces murder charges in connection with the slayings of Dixon and Johnson.

According to investigators, Washington lured the pair into a car, forced them to switch off their phones, and allegedly killed them before dumping their bodies in the river.

Volunteers discovered their remains near downtown Fort Wayne, sparking a homicide investigation. Autopsies revealed Dixon died from strangulation and suffocation, while Johnson suffered fatal gunshot and stab wounds.

Police Chief Kyle Weatherly expressed sorrow for the victims’ families and vowed to hold those responsible accountable.

Meanwhile, Washington remains in custody, facing multiple charges, including murder and kidnapping. Further arrests may follow as the investigation continues.

The Richmond Police Department, however, refuted claims that Dixon and Johnson were acting as informants at the time of their deaths, though they admitted the possibility of previous covert work.

With Washington behind bars, authorities are working tirelessly to bring justice to the victims and their families, leaving no stone unturned.
