PFL heavyweight Daniel James has been handed a 10-month suspension following a failed drug test for bis-(4-cyanophenyl) methanol, a metabolite of letrozole, during an out-of-competition test on May 8. This marks the 42-year-old fighter’s third failed drug test since 2022.
James, who holds a record of 15-7-1, previously faced suspensions under Bellator’s independent drug-testing program in 2022 and 2023.
His April 2022 bout against Davion Franklin was canceled after he tested positive for an undisclosed banned substance, and his November 2022 victory was overturned due to anabolic substance detection.
Most recently, James competed in April, finishing Marcelo Golm with strikes, but missed weight for the bout. He was scheduled for a rematch against Tyrell Fortune in June but withdrew for undisclosed reasons.
This latest suspension further complicates James’ future in the PFL, as anti-doping violations continue to mar his career.
