A man was arrested Tuesday after a search of his motel room, just across from the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department, uncovered drugs and stolen property.
Authorities executed a search warrant at room 124 of the America’s Best Value Inn on Rhea County Highway, directly opposite the courthouse and sheriff’s office.
The search revealed over 27 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash, and a stolen air compressor.
The man, identified as Matthew Wampler, faces charges including maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of meth and marijuana for resale, theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He’s currently held at the Rhea County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
