A search for a missing Cumberland County woman unraveled a surprising turn of events Thursday, as it led to a drug bust on Blossom Road, Hope Mills, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

In a coordinated operation, the Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit, backed by the Special Response Team and the K-9 unit, executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence on the 2700 block.

Investigators aimed to locate the woman reported missing, but during the search, they discovered more than they bargained for—a firearm, over 4 grams of cocaine, and the missing woman herself, all hidden within the residence.

The suspect, 41-year-old Dennis Lesesane, now faces a string of charges, including possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, manufacturing narcotics, and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon.

Lesesane, apprehended and detained under a $75,000 bond, had his initial court appearance on Friday, marking a significant legal step forward.

Inquiries into the case continue, with authorities urging anyone with insights on related narcotics cases to reach out to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 677-5525.
