Mesa Police K9 Uncovers Drugs During Traffic Stop

A Mesa Police Department K9, named Nick, is being hailed as a hero after sniffing out nearly two pounds of heroin and cocaine during a traffic stop on September 16.

Officers from the Fiesta Street Crimes Unit pulled over a vehicle they suspected of carrying drugs. 

K9 Nick quickly alerted officers, leading them to discover 1.1 pounds of heroin, 0.75 pounds of cocaine, a firearm, and $2,700 in cash hidden inside the car.

The identity of the suspect remains undisclosed, and the charges they are facing have not been announced.

The department celebrated the successful bust on Facebook, highlighting the crucial role their K9 unit played in the operation.
