McGregor Pushes UFC Return, Faces Uncertain Future in Fight World

Last Updated On: October 11, 2024

Conor McGregor, once the king of two UFC divisions, is still pushing for a fight date after revealing his latest drug test results.

It’s been over two years since his devastating leg break against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, and his frustration with the UFC continues to build.

Sharing his clean test results on social media, McGregor hinted at his eagerness to return, stating, “Most tested athlete on the UFC roster x2. I deserve my fight date! #CleanAthlete.”

The Irishman’s highly anticipated bout with Michael Chandler, initially set for UFC 303, has been delayed again, now likely postponed until 2025.

Speaking candidly, McGregor expressed his desire to be back in the Octagon: “We will see. I must get two fights in 2025. It’s the promised land.”

While UFC President Dana White remains confident McGregor will fight next year, the fighter’s future is anything but certain.

McGregor, now 36, is contemplating life after his UFC contract ends, leaving fans speculating about a possible switch to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), where he already holds a stake.

BKFC President David Feldman is optimistic, stating, “I think 100 percent he fights here.”

With McGregor’s next moves shrouded in mystery, one thing’s clear—his comeback, whether in UFC or elsewhere, will have the fight world holding its breath.
