Authorities in Tangipahoa Parish dismantled a suspected drug network operating in Hammond and Tickfaw, arresting five individuals in a sweeping raid.
Sheriff’s deputies, alongside narcotics detectives, executed search warrants on March 14, uncovering a stash of methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana (Mojo), cocaine, firearms, and drug paraphernalia.
Among those taken into custody was Alvin Cotton, 48, charged with possession with intent to distribute multiple narcotics, including marijuana, meth, heroin, and Mojo, alongside firearm and paraphernalia violations.
Kimberly Lizana, 50, was booked for possessing crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Hayes Cotton, 64, Doniel Gooden, 46, and Rene Alvarado, 43, were arrested on existing drug-related warrants.
Sheriff Gerald Sticker emphasized the department’s unwavering stance on crime: “Because criminal activity knows no boundaries like city limits, neither does the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office.”
He reaffirmed ongoing collaboration with local and federal agencies to root out illegal operations throughout the parish.
With the investigation still active, authorities expect further arrests. Law enforcement officials are continuing efforts to dismantle drug networks in the region, signaling that this crackdown is far from over.
