Drug Bust in Aroostook County Leads to Four Arrests, $200K in Fentanyl and Meth Seized

Authorities in Aroostook County arrested four individuals on drug trafficking charges after uncovering more than $200,000 worth of fentanyl and methamphetamine in a Caswell home, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA).

The bust followed months of investigation into suspected drug activity at the residence located on 1057 Van Buren Rd., a rural area near the Canadian border.

In the search, agents seized over two pounds of fentanyl, a pound of meth, and approximately $19,000 believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

The street value of the narcotics was estimated to exceed $200,000.

Among those arrested were locals Andrew McHatten, 47, and Massachusetts residents Whilo Recio, 27, Ramon Recio, 28, and Diomedes Del Rosario Cotreras, 35, a Dominican national.

Each faces charges of unlawful trafficking of fentanyl and methamphetamine. They are being held at Aroostook County Jail, with bail set at $15,000 per individual.
