A routine traffic stop turned into a high-stakes chase in Pickens County, ending in a significant drug trafficking arrest. On July 15, deputies noticed a vehicle speeding and blowing through a stop sign in Liberty.
The driver, Donald Trammell, sped off when they flashed their blue lights. What followed was a brief but intense pursuit.
Once apprehended, deputies discovered a staggering haul—700 grams of suspected methamphetamine and over 20 grams of suspected fentanyl.
Trammell now faces a slew of charges, including multiple counts of methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking. His arrest showcases the growing battle against illicit drugs in the community.
Currently held without bond at the Pickens County Detention Center, Trammell’s charges are extensive, including second offenses for failing to stop for police and reckless driving.
He’s also facing charges related to driving with a suspended license and simple possession of marijuana.
This incident underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb drug trafficking in the region, with the hope that it will make a dent in the flow of dangerous substances across the county.
