In a swift operation near Bessemer, Jefferson County detectives nabbed two individuals following a high-speed chase, resulting in significant drug trafficking charges.

Acting on a Crime Stoppers tip, officers with the Vice and Narcotics Division, along with specialized units, set their sights on a suspect peddling drugs in the area.

The drama unfolded on September 19th, when detectives attempted to pull over a vehicle on Aaron Aronov Drive in Fairfield.

Instead of complying, the driver sped off, sparking a dangerous chase through Ensley and Brighton. The pursuit ended abruptly when the driver lost control, crashing at the intersection of 48th Street and Huntsville Avenue in Brighton.

Once apprehended, the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Jarvis Anjuan Allen, was taken to UAB Hospital for precautionary measures before landing in the Jefferson County Jail.

Allen now faces multiple drug trafficking charges, along with a felony for attempting to evade police. His bond is set at over $2 million.

Adding to the chaos, a passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Braylin Allen, fled the scene but later turned himself in. Both now face serious legal consequences.

The detectives’ haul was substantial: 40 grams of Fentanyl, 28 grams of Ecstasy, 0.67 grams of Methamphetamine, 604 grams of Marijuana, and 9 grams of Cocaine. In addition to the narcotics, authorities seized four cell phones, two digital scales, and a pistol.

The investigation remains active, and the Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with more information to come forward. The successful bust serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Jefferson County.
