An Auburn man, 39, is facing serious drug trafficking charges after local authorities discovered significant amounts of cocaine and ecstasy during a weekend raid on two Auburn properties.
Officers uncovered approximately 27 grams of crack cocaine, 6.5 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, and 15 MDMA pills, along with scales, packaging materials, and over $500 in suspected drug proceeds.
A .45 caliber Glock handgun and a ballistics vest were also confiscated.
Jose Mota has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs (Class A) and Illegal Possession of a Firearm (Class C).
He’s being held at Androscoggin County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
The trafficking charge was elevated due to the firearm found on the premises. Mota, with a long history of felony convictions in several states, is prohibited from owning firearms.
This marks a significant victory for local authorities in their ongoing efforts to curb drug-related crime in the area.
